REYKJAVIK – THINGVELLIR – GEYSIR – GULLFOSS – FRIDHEIMAR – SKALHOLT – KERID – BLUE LAGOON -REYKJAVIK
To take a private tour with us on the golden circle is an unforgettable moment of your travels in Iceland. We cover all the major attractions of southwest Iceland, starting with a drive to the national park of Thingvellir, where the first settlers of our great country established our parliament in the year 930. Althingi, our parliament is the oldest parliament in the world. At Thingvellir, we invite you to walk through the ravine of Almannagja. At the moment that you walk through, you are in fact walking between the two continental tectonic plates, the Euro Asia plate and the North America plate.
From Thingvellir, we take you through a small village on the bank of lake Laugarvatn. The lake is known for its high level of seismic activity.
We drive on to Geysir, the world’s most famous hot spring. Currently, Strokkur (Geysir’s smaller brother) is the only one that is erupting but does so in a spectacular way every few minutes.
After our stop at Geysir, we continue to the waterfall of all waterfalls, Gullfoss. Gullfoss is often referred to as the Queen of Icelandic waterfalls.
From Gullfoss we take you to Fridheimar, the famous tomato farm.
From Fridheimar we take you to Skalholt, one of Iceland’s most historical places. Skalholt was an episcopal see, a school, a seat of learning and administration for more than 700 years and a place of pilgrimage in medieval times.
From Skalholt we take you to Kerid, a crater that was formed 6500 years ago and lies at the northern end of a row of craters known as Tjarnarholar. It is oval, about 270m long and 170m vide and 55m deep. The entrance fee at Kerid is 400 ISK per person.
From Kerid, we take you along the south coast to the Blue Lagoon, where you can enjoy a 1,5 hour relaxation while we wait for you.
After a fantastic day, which you will cherish and remember for the rest of your life, we take you back to Reykjavik.
Please note: The Blue Lagoon admission needs to be ordered ahead of time. The tour is only awailable during the opening hours of the lagoon and in conjunction with your admission time to the lagoon.
